Fun With Washi Tape!
So, before this, I had never even heard of Washi tape. I mean, what the heck is this stuff? It’s fun, that’s what!
Basically Washi tape is mini rolls of masking tape with cool designs on them. There are so many to choose from that you will end up using them all..haha! I got these three sets, and between them I had 48 different rolls! Each pack of 16 is different.
You can see all of the variety in these rolls. I worked on a project with them, and had so much trouble deciding which rolls I wanted to use, that I ended up using several! These tapes are very thin, so they aren’t for taping something together or anything like that. They are more for decoration, scrap books, etc. Or, if you are like me, you tape everything, including your asthma inhaler.haha. Seriously, though, I did take a plain wooden oil box and several rolls of Washi tape and just went to town with it.
The tape went on smooth, although it didn’t really want to stick, but that could be due to many reasons. I had to keep smoothing it down, but it still looked nice. Here is the top of the box:
Look how beautiful those colors blend together! This project was so much fun! Around the sides I used more rolls and alternated the rows. I really had an eclectic mixture on this box, but that’s what makes it so unique! Here are the sides:
The drawer was a bit more complicated, but with how easy this washi tape is to manipulate, I was able to take an exacto knife and easily make the tape fit. Here’s the front with the drawer:
This tape is really a lot of fun to play with. You can get yours from InspireMe Products!
